Best Plant to Grow in a Depression
With the worsening of our financial security in what is being called the Next Great Depression, many people will be interested in growing their own food.
I just started growing my own food. I have gone through many trials and tribulations on the road to gardening success.
That is why I am mostly interested in easy to grow plants. I know that many people may be living in apartments or houses without extra room. I am also interested in plants that also don't seen much space or sunlight.
What one plant can be grown in a small space and produce enough food for the whole family? Sound impossible? What plant grows indoors without much light?
Sprouts.
What are sprouts?
Sprouts are very young plants that grow from a variety of seeds. There are bean sprouts, alfalfa, broccoli, radish and many more. They can be mild or spicy, and hearty or delicate.
I've seen people grow them in jars and all sorts of set ups. The easiest way is with a commercial sprouting kit, such as the Handy Pantry Sprout Kit, that I am most familiar with.
In about 3-4 days, a crop of sprouts can provide enough for a salad ingredient for your family or a flavorful surprise addition to a stir-fry recipe.
Start growing sprouts. It's fast, easy, and very healthy.
If you don't have time to even grow sprouts this chore can be easily done by your kids, who love being involved with the family's meal prep.
Buy a Handy Pantry Sprout Kit and sprout seeds from Handy Pantry.
When the sprouts are ready in a few days prepare a delicious stir-fry like the one below to introduce your family to the wonder of fresh sprouts.
These days the future of global markets is not just grim. This is history in the making as this Depression is already causing a wave of financial catastrophes that have never before been seen by our young American Empire.
The end of the current disaster cannot be predicted.
